->SACO - Judith A. Brown, 71, of Forest Street, born Sept. 30, 1942, daughter of Irving Eben Matthews and Eleanor (Hopkins) Matthews died peacefully in her home in Saco, on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, surrounded by loved ones.Judy graduated as Class Valedictorian from Wells High School in 1960. She played basketball and softball while attending High School. Judy then graduated from Cambridge School of Business in Boston and was employed for several years by Northeastern University as secretary in the offices of Dean of the Graduate School and Vice President and Provost. After moving back to Maine she was employed as a secretary to the City Manager in Brewer and the City Administrator in Saco. For many years she was employed as a bookkeeper by Lunder Manufacturing in Saco. She enjoyed spending time with her family and she loved animals. Her hobbies included knitting, sewing, baking, crossword puzzles and watching sports on TV.She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond A. Brown Sr.; her mother and stepfather, Lester O. Brown; and her father&#x27;s stepbrother, David Brown. Judith is survived by brother, Larry Matthews and his wife, Maryann, of Tacoma, Wash; and her children, Jill Viel and spouse, Andy, of Rollinsford, N.H., Raymond Brown Jr., and spouse, Angel, of Portland, Pamela Havey and spouse, John, of Sandwich, Mass., and Robert Brown and spouse, Lorene, of Kittery. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.There are no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, at Cornerstone United Methodist Church, 20 Jenkins Road, Saco.
