Juanita Kreis Smith, 92, of Lancing, passed away Saturday morning, March 1, 2014 at Life Care Center of Morgan County.She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Wartburg. Retired nurse, Veteran of WWII, Juanita was the oldest female Veteran in Morgan County.She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Smith; daughter, Pamela Smith; parents, Louis and Edith Bardill Kries; and brothers, Johnny, Arnold and Clayton Kreis.Surviving is her daughter, Jenny White and husband Rick of Lancing; granddaughter, Tara Paterson of Tampa, Fla.; grandson, Mark White and wife Nikki of Knoxville; five great-grandchildren, Patrick, Pamela, Paige, Isaiah and Payton; brothers, M.C., Everett, Billy and wife Susie Kreis; several beloved nieces and nephews and other friends and relatives.The family received friends Sunday, March 2, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services were held Monday, March 3, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor David Graves officiating.
