Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Henry B. and Mary Belle Flowers Smith. Miss Smith retired from Dan River Mills where she was a spinning instructor. She attended Woodside Baptist Church. Survivors include two sisters, Helen B. Smith and Azalea Smith Gilmore; one niece, Dawn Gilmore Brannon (Jim); one great niece, Anne Brannon; one great nephew, Bryson Brannon; and special friends, Elaine Golden and Vanessa Rosemond. She was predeceased by two sisters and one brother. The funeral service will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, July 25, 2011, in the Remembrance Mausoleum Chapel at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
