ObituaryJuanita D. Smith, 82, of Fort Myers, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2006. Juanita was born in Okeechobee, FL to Elam and Lucy Mae Durrance. She was a life-long Florida resident, moving to Ft. Myers five years ago from Palm Bay. Juanita was a dedicated Registered Nurse for 40 years. She worked at Miami Baptist Hospital and Larkin Hospital in Miami. In recent years, Juanita was parishioner at 1st Baptist Church in Ft. Myers.Juanita is survived by her daughter, Evelyn White of Ft. Myers. Juanita's husband, Charles J. Smith preceded her in death in May 0f 1991.A small memorial service will be held at the family's discretion at Shady Rest Nursing Home, where Juanita spent her final days. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Alvin A. Dubin Alzheimer's Resource Center, Inc., 10051 McGregor Boulevard, Suite 101, Ft. Myers, FL 33919. Harvey-Engelhardt-Metz Funeral home of Ft. Myers is in charge of arrangements.
