Juanita B. Davis, 82, died June 12, 2009, at William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay. She was born in Jacksonville, and moved to Eau Gallie in 1959, coming from Sanford. She was a lifelong resident of Florida. She was a former co-owner of Davis Funeral Home in Melbourne and had worked for Dr. Sessions and Kissimmee Hospital in the 1950s. She graduated from Osceola High School in 1946. She was a member of Ascension Catholic Church, Melbourne, serving on the parish council; Council of Catholic Women, former woman of the year, and active on Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets for Social Concerns. She volunteered on the American Cancer Society for many years and was in charge of the Medical Equipment Loan Closet and helped coordinate transportation for chemo patients. She was also a member of Garden Club, Women's Club, Friends of the Eau Gallie Library, VFW Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion, and Eau Gallie Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, J. Harold Davis of Melbourne; daughters, Margaret Ann Davis of Melbourne and Patti Davis Thogersen of Port St. Lucie; one granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Tyner, Ruth E. Breese and Lois Littlefield; and her brother, Marion Breese. SERVICES: Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. June 15 at the Ascension Catholic Church, Melbourne, with a vigil service at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. June 16 at the church. Committal service and interment will be at 1:30 p.m. June 16 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Kissimmee. Arrangements are by Forest Hills Funeral Homes Palm City and Young & Prill Chapels.
