Jesse Albert Budd, Jr., 73, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2001 at his residence. Buddy was born and raised in Jacksonville. Mr. Budd graduated from St. Josephs Academy and attended the University of Florida and Jacksonville Junior College (Jacksonville University). He was retired from Southern Bell where he worked for almost 40 years in the PBX division. He was proud to have served in the U.S. Army after WWII in the Screaming Eagles 101st Airborne division. Mr. Budd was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, BPOE Lodge #1901, Moose Lodge #42, American Legion #400, Knights of Columbus, Captains Club and San Jose Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marjorie Sue Middleton Budd; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patty and Paul Naugle and Susan and Jim Towler; one son Michael Budd; one daughter-in- law, Jill Budd; and four grandchildren, P. Cameron Naugle, Jr., Paula Naugle, Megan Budd and Emma Towler. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 8 p.m., with a vigil service being recited at 7:00 p.m. at HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 4115 Hendricks Ave. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. July 16, 2001 at San Jose Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to Community Hospice of N.E. Florida or the Catholic Diocese of St. Augustine.
