Family-Placed ObituaryFREDERICK B. MacGREGOR, Jr. "Mac" Frederick B. "Mac" MacGregor, Jr., died Thursday, December 3, 2009, at his residence in Okeechobee, FL. Born November 10, 1931, in Troy, NY, Mr. MacGregor led a life of service to his family, friends and country. While in the military, his tours of duty included Korea, Japan, Guam, Vietnam, Germany and numerous stateside assignments as Chief of Munitions Maintenance in the United States Air Force. A highly decorated and honored veteran, "Mac" was never one to be idle, even in retirement. He volunteered his time and superb organizational skills to several causes. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a former Post Commander of VFW #10539 and member of American Legion Post 64 and the Moose Lodge. He was married for 54 years and is survived by the love of his life, Pearl L. (Gertsch) MacGregor. They shared the the ups and downs of a mobile military life for 30 years before retiring first in Rathdrum, ID and then moving to Okeechobee, FL in 1996. He is also survived by one daughter, Katherine (Kathy) Hogan and husband, Scott of New Port, WA and son, Frerderick B. MacGregor, (Rick) and wife, Susie of Lake Worth, FL and two grandsons, James Frederick Kasch and Jeffrey Adam Kasch who both joined the Air Force and deeply honored their grandfather. He is also survived by three great-grand- children; Bryce, Tyler and Payton Kasch. In addition he is survived by four sisters; Margaret Smith, Marian Ray, Kay Costello and Patricia Brauer all of New York. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Operation Uplink. He truly knew how much a phone call meant to families while serving overseas. Contributions may be sent to: Pres. Ladies Auxillary, VFW Post #10539, 3912 Hwy. 441 SE, Okeechobee, FL 34974. Friends may call at the Buxton Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 9, 2009, from 4:00 PM until service time at 6:00 PM. Internment, with military honors, will take place on Thursday, December 10, 2009, at 2:00 PM at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL.
