Joyce Wilson, née en 1930, conjointe de Syd Wilson, est décédée le 21 juillet 2003.
WILSON Joyce Isabel (nee MacKay). Born September 24, 1930 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully Monday, July 21, 2003 in Victoria, B.C. Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband of 52 years, Syd Wilson of Mill Bay, B.C.; children, (grandchildren) [and great-grandchildren]; Guy and Laurie (Carver, Levi, Holly) Wilson of Dawson Creek; Kim and Virg (Samantha [Brennen, Shelby], Ben, Dan) Wilson of Port Coquitlam; Cindy Wilson of Duncan, Kevin and Kelly (Chris, Terra) Wilson of Duncan. Joyce had many friends from Giant Stride Diving Scuba Shop and her many years as the co-owner of The Roadside Pantry. She was also an aspiring author who completed two books, The Ultimate Journey and Illusions. It washer deepest wish and heartfelt philosophy that this not be a time of sadness or despair since this is not an ending but simply one step of her 'ultimate journey'. Out of respect for her belief that life is to be cherished and enjoyed, and thatpassing on should not be feared or dwelt upon in sadness, there will be no formal services. Her cremation will be quietly honoured by family, and the winds will peacefully carry her to the blue skies above the home and bay she loved so well. As family, we celebrate her life with joy in our hearts (pun intended) and know that when you choose to call or visit any one of us you will give us back one of the many smiles she shared with you. In lieu of flowers, she simply requests that you live well, love well, and watch your health, paying particular attention to regular medical checkups. These final words were favorites of hers, and we reprint them here at her request: Do no stand by my grave and weep I am not there, I do notsleep. I am a thousand winds that blow; I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain; I am the gentle autumn rain. When you waken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I amthe soft stars that shine at night. So do not stand by my grave and cry; I am not there, I did not die.
