Joyce P. Bailey CANANDAIGUA - Joyce P. Bailey, of Ferris Hills, passed away on Tuesday September 7, 2010 at FF Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua. Joyce was born October 13, 1922 in Watertown, N.Y., the daughter of Earl F. and Florence Perkins Peters and was a graduate of Watertown High School. She married Owen D. Bailey in Hope Presbyterian on February 12, 1944 in Watertown. Joyce was a caring and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. Joyce loved others and was loved in return by her family and friends of all ages. Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Owen; children, Robert (Mary), Douglass (Janet) and Sue (Steve) Porath; loving grandchildren, Carrie (Tom) Frost, Erin (Mike) Dolen, Jessica McFarlane, Robert (Noralee) Bailey and Kevin (Kim) Bailey; great ­grandchildren, Clay Bailey, Lane Bailey, Kole Bailey, Anna Frost, Aidan Frost, Julia Kaplan and Jackson Dolen. Joyce is also survived by her brother, Donald Peters. Joyce and Owen raised their family in New York Mills, N.Y., where Joyce worked for many years as the head teller at the Bank of Utica. They retired to St. Petersburg Fla., where they spent many wonderful years. Joyce and Owen moved to Canandaigua after summering here to be closer to their family. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service was held at Ferris Hills, in celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, a contribution in Joyce's memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
