ADAMS Joyce Marie Adams (Joy), 45, was born on February 18, 1965 in Bridgeport, to Retha E. Adams-Strong. She was an attendee of Warren Harding High School and a graduate of The Amore' Beauty Hair Institute. Joyce was a resident of Decatur, Georgia for several years after relocating from Fayetteville, North Carolina. Joyce was the owner and operator of "Hair It Iz" Hair Salon by Joy. On August 29, 2010, with her children and granddaughter surrounding her, she bravely took a leap into victory. Her cherished moments to be remembered are left to her mother, Retha E. Adams-Strong of Connecticut; two daughters, Tashika Marie Adams and LeTaiya Lenai Davis; one granddaughter, Jonaiya S. Pitts, all of Georgia; four sisters, Carolyn (Archibald) Adams-Nicholson of Stratford, Deborah (Terrance) Adams-Palmer, Pamela (Brian) Adams-Smith and Reba (Mark) Gaines, all of Bridgeport; one brother Samuel (Sandy) Adams, Sr. of Bridgeport; maternal grandparents, Samuel and Mable Dicks of Stratford; two aunts, Brenda (Raymond) Yates and LaSandria (Guilford) Dicks-Boyd, all of Stratford; two uncles, Thomas (Charlena) Wilson of South Carolina, and Aaron Daniels, Sr. of Bridgeport; special friends, Lucy, Debbie, Michelle, Cynthia and many, many more; two god-children, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. She was predeceased by her step-father, Andrew W. Strong; three brothers, Dennis, Larry, and Christopher. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 3, 2010 at Messiah Baptist Church. Viewing will take place at 5 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. Interment will be held Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Park Cemetery at 10 a.m. Reverend Gigi Brooks will be presiding over the service.
