JOHNSON Joyce Margaret Johnson, 84, passed away on Tuesday evening, June 5, 2012. Joyce was born, the 11th of 12 children, on August 29, 1927 in Arley, Alabama to George F. and Martha Harbison Campbell. She was a very active member of Southside Baptist Church since moving to Jacksonville in 1959. Joyce was a long time member of the Rachel Sunday School Class and the Food Services committee which includes many ministries in the church especially the Blind Ministry and the WMU. She was a 15 year member of the Baptist Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Johnson was very proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Nothing gave her more joy than the times when the entire family could all be together. She was predeceased by her grandson, Justin Johnson. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 65 years, Murphy Pat Johnson; daughter, Connie J. Cawthon (John); son, Philip M. Johnson (Sandra); sister, Doris C. Fuller (William); brothers, Julian R. Campbell (Marie) and Ernal Spud Campbell (Bea); grandchildren, Bryan Johnson, Christi Boone (Michael), Chad Cawthon and Stacy Holland (Patrick; great grandchildren, Courtney and Paige Boone, Dylan and Gunner Holland, Nathan Johnson; and many other nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. A Memorial Service will be held on at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 8, 2012 at the Southside Baptist Church, 1435 Atlantic Blvd. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials in Joyce's memory to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at www.lls.org.
