A graveside service was held Thursday, December 24, 2009 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Savannah, GA, according to Vance Memorial Chapel, Phenix City, AL. Ms. Johnson was born February 2, 1949 in Savannah, GA daughter of Col. (Ret) Dover Johnson and the late Gerturde Johnson. She is survived by her father and step-mother, Col. (Ret) Dover and Libby Johnson; one daughter Tina Garst and husband Joseph of Midland City, AL; two sons, John Schaefer and wife Stacy of Archie, MO and Shawn Schaefer of Dothan, AL; six grandchildren, Michael, Shawna, Harlie and Halie Schaefer, Joseph and Justin Garst; two sisters, Becky Nalls of Phenix City, AL and Pennye Anderson of Pooler, GA; nieces and nephews.
