CARTER, JOYCE I., 84, of Louisville, passed away Friday, May 3, 2012 at Baptist Healthcare. She was a retired traffic control officer for the Louisville Police Department and a member of the Jeffersontown Senior Center and a volunteer for Hosparus for 10 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur B. Carter. She is survived by her sons, Richard Carter (Trish) and David Carter (Kathy); two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Her funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at Highlands. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hosparus of Louisville.
