->Joyce D. DavisHyde Park - Hyde Park - Joyce D. Davis, 75, a longtime area resident, died Monday, April 8, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie. Born in Jamestown, NY on August 11, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Frances Granskofski. Joyce was a registered nurse at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie for many years. She had a positive outlook on life with a contagious smile, and dedicated her life to helping others. Joyce had a curious spirit, and highly regarded continuous education. She was also a strong believer in Homeopathic Medicine. Survivors include her son, Scott Davis of Chesapeake, VA; three granddaughters, Monica Elletson of Hyde Park, Julia Elletson of Wappingers Falls, and Brittnay Watzka of Wappingers Falls; nieces, Rebecca "Becky" McCulloch of Woodbury, TN, Lori Sampson of Jamestown, NY, and Marie Sampson of San Diego, CA; and nephew, Eric "Rick" Sampson of San Diego, CA.In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Dianne McArdle; and sister, Loretta Sampson.Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 pm, Friday, April 12th at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte., 9, Hyde Park.Funeral services will take place at 3:30 pm during the visitation. Rev. Arlene Dawber will officiate.In keeping with her wishes, cremation will follow at the convenience of her family.
