Joyce Christine Moore-Lyons, 70, of Radcliff, passed away Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, at her residence. Joyce received her formative education in the Nashville Davidson County School system. She was a graduate of Meigs High School Class of 1962. She excelled in her classes and was a member of the Meigs High School High Stepping Majorettes. She was a proud TSU Alumni having received a two-year degree in elementary education.Joyce confessed her hope and faith in her Lord and Savior at an early age giving reverence at all times to him her Christian journey. She enjoyed the scriptures and found much peace as the read or listened to God's Word. Joyce was a devoted member of the New Jerusalem Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Though petite in size, Joyce was a giant in her faith. Never any question about her conviction and her passion for her Savior, the Sabbath Day and the joy she received as she fellowshipped in delightful communion with her family of God.She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Moore.Survivors include her husband of 50 years, William M. Lyons III; three daughters, Markita Gilbert (Dwayne), Akella Lyons-Edmunds and Shanika Lyons (Derek Marnell); a son, Carlos Holder (Pansy); 10 grandchildren, Brianna and William Edmunds, Kilah Childress, Tiara and Dwayne Gilbert, Damarie and Taylor Lyons-McCarthy, Marquecia Cook, Lekeia Holder and Carlos Holder Jr.; her mother, Mary Dora Ray; two brothers, Richard Moore Jr. (Martha) and Donnie Ray; a brother-in-law, Larry Lyons (Faye); a sister-in-law, Renee Settles (James); a God-daughter, Cashonda Lyons; lifelong friends, Iris Williams and Barbara Akins. Heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to Pastor Nelson B. Stokes, Hillcrest SDA church of Nashville, Tennessee, and host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.The funeral is at 11a.m. Tuesday, Dec 9, at New Jerusalem SDA Church 1226 S.Wilson Road, Radcliff, KY with Pastor Michael Harris officiating. Burial follows in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff.Visitation is from 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, at Percell & Sons Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.
