GERRIOR, Joyce Anita - 68, 39 Cambey Ave., Stellarton, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2004, peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late James Wilfred and Dorothy (Murphy) MacDonald. Joyce lived her married life in Stellarton having previously lived in McLennan's Mountain. She graduated from the Aberdeen Hospital School of Nursing in 1957, where she nursed for a number of years and then at Glen Haven Manor in New Glasgow from where she retired. She was a member of St. John's Presbyterian Church McLennan's Mountain. Joyce was a member of the ladies Auxiliary of Branch 28 Royal Canadian Legion, Stellarton and a charter member of the ladies Auxiliary of No. 110 Northumberland Wing of the Air Force Association, Stellarton. Joyce was also a member of the Aberdeen Hospital Alumni. She was a captain of the Girl Guides in Stellarton. Surviving are her husband, Bernard (Bernie); daughters, Kathie (Louis) White, Stellarton; Mary (Bill) Long Jr., Westville; granddaughters, Amber Richards, Edmonton, Alta.; Vanessa and Brianna Long, Westville; brothers, Allan (Jacqueline), Westville; Jack (Mae), McLennan's Mountain. She was predeceased by brother, Eugene Gordon MacDonald. Cremation has taken place. Her family will receive visitors in H.C.MacQuarrie Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. today, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. A public memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. John's Presbyterian Church McLennan's Mountain, Rev. Charles MacPherson officiating. Burial will be in the McLennan's Mountain Cemetery. Donations in memory of Joyce may be made to Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Society.
