April 9, 2009 Josephine "Jo" Todd was laid to rest April 13, 2009, at St. Mary's Cemetery in Florence, NY, following her funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Church in Syracuse. She died peacefully at the Syracuse Home in Baldwinsville on April 9, 2009, following a brief illness. Born in Ambridge, Pennsylvania, Jo grew up on the family farm in Liverpool that is now the Seneca Mall. She has one brother, Stan Stanley of Fayetteville, and two sisters, Frances Hildebrand of Warner Robbins, GA, and Elsie Dunlap of Brooksville, FL, who survive her. She was predeceased by her sisters, Elizabeth Bisbing, Anna Wooster and Mary Stanley. She married Edward Todd in 1936 and had three sons who survive her, Gerald (Rosalie) of Vero Beach, FL, Paul (Kay) of Minoa and Robert (Diane) of Liverpool. She was widowed in 1983. She worked at Wells and Coverly in downtown Syracuse until her retirement in 1973. A devout Catholic, she was a member of St. Daniel's Church in Lyncourt for most of her adult life. She joined St. John the Baptist Church in 1989 when she moved to Fahey Court. She prayed the rosary daily until her illness. She attended Mass and was a daily communicant of the Cathedral when she worked downtown and of St. Daniel's and St. John the Baptist until she was unable to live independently. Generous to a fault and loving to her entire family: sisters, brother, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. We will mourn her briefly but celebrate her life and miss her forever.
