->MACON Ga. -- Josephine Mary Hudson, age 84, of 5928 Plantation Villa Drive South, Macon, passed away on Aug. 19, 2006, in the Medical Center of Central Georgia after an extended illness with cancer.Josephine was a registered nurse. She served in World War II and the Korean War as a Navy nurse in the Naval Reserve. Josephine was born in Augusta on April 20, 1922, the daughter of Anna (Rolek) and Walter Sobus. She graduated from Cony High School and Central Maine General Hospital School of Nursing in Lewiston, Maine. She was a retired nurse from Georgia Kraft.She is survived by her husband, William Q. Hudson; six children, Katherine Hudson, Barbara Ann Allison, Mary Beth Mahoney and husband, David, Robert Michael Hudson, William Q. Hudson Jr. and his wife, Zoe, and Walter Daniel Hudson; and her 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She is also survived by her sister, Winnifred Gingrow and her husband, Philip, and two brothers, Anthony Sobus and Stanley Sobus and his wife, Emiley, all of Augusta.Josephine devoted her life to her family and her faith. She touched many lives with her concern and care for others. She will be missed, but her joy of life, kindness and a spirit of courage will always be remembered in our hearts and souls.A Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, Aug. 23, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 4074 Chambers Road, Macon,. Interment will be at Macon Memorial Park. The visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today, at Macon Memorial Park with a Rosary to follow.The family may be contacted at the home of Mary Beth Mahoney, 240 Castlegate Road, Macon, GA 31210.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
