PEMBROKE – Mr. Joseph H. "Don" St. Germain, 83, a lifelong resident of the Pembroke–Allenstown area, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at Concord Hospital.Born in Allenstown on Aug. 20, 1930, Don was the son of Ephrem and Jane (Burke) St. Germain. He received his Bachelor of Arts from St. Anselm College and his master's in education from Boston University. Don joined the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the John J. American Legion Post No. 2860.Mr. St. Germain was an insurance agent for and eventually the owner of Rogers Insurance Agency. Later he worked for the Cyr-Rogers Insurance Co., and after his retirement worked part time for the New Hampshire Liquor Commission.Don was a member of the Knights of Columbus Fr. Routhier Council and the 4th Degree Msgr. Buckley Assembly, where he had served as faithful navigator. He was also a member of the St. Theresa Rosebush Society.Don was predeceased by his wife, Jeanne (Bouchard) St. Germain in 1998, and by his siblings, Irene Letendre, Ella Bellerose, Stella Forcier and Robert St. Germain.He is survived by several nieces and nephews, Arthur and Leslee Letendre, Denise and Dan King, Maurice St. Germain, Bernard and Ann Lafond, Msgr. Paul Bouchard and Claude and Yvonne Bouchard.Friends and family are invited to an hour of remembrance at the Petit Funeral Home, 167 Main St., Pembroke, on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., prior to a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown.
