HANLEY Joseph M., of Norwood, died January 26, 2010. He was 79. Mr. Hanley was a graduate of Boston College High School, Class of 1947 and Boston College, Class of 1951. He retired after 37 years from the Town of Westwood Schools. He was the beloved husband of Ethel (Courtney) Hanley. Loving father of J. Michael Hanley, Jr. and his wife Anna Marie of Atlanta, GA, Elizabeth C. McCarron and her husband Bruce of Reading, Maura T. Makiej and her husband Walter of Andover, and Sean Patrick Hanley and his wife Nancy of Dedham. Cherished grandfather of Joseph Michael Hanley, III, John and Michael Makiej, and Olivia and Ella Hanley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 30 at 9:00 A.M. from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Route. 1A), NORWOOD, then at 10:00 A.M at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Norwood, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow the Mass in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 29 from 3:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joseph M. Hanley Scholarship Fund, Boston College High School, 150 Morrissey Boulevard, Dorchester, MA 02125.
