Age seventy-three, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospice on Friday, September 14, 2001. Beloved son of the late Francis and Alice Lemieux, he is survived by his four sisters, Electa McGregor, Regina Lemieux, Ida Lemieux and Helen Lemieux, all of Montreal. Alvin was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Stella and Lydia and his brothers, Andrew, Russel, Louis and Kenneth. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 18, 2001 when friends and family will gather at 12:10 p.m. at St. Patrick's Cathedral. Service will be complete in the church with cremation to follow. Final interment will take place in Montreal. Prayers will be offered on Monday, September 17, 2001 at 7 p.m. in the BLake Funeral Chapel. Donations to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation would be greatly appreciated. The Lemieux family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Thunder Bay Regional Hospital, St. Joseph's Hospital and the Cancer Clinic for Alvin's excellent care during his illness and also thanks to all their relatives and friends for their support and kindness.
