WHITMAN Joseph Flanagan of Whitman, formerly of Hull died Friday November 14, 2008 at his home in Whitman after a lengthy illness. He was 73. He was born in Boston. He worked as a carpenter and a former machinist at the Quincy Ship Yard. He is a Veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Marines. He is survived by his nephew Alexander J. Flanagan of Louisiana, three nieces Susan Nowokunski of Dover, NH, Dorothy Lekkas of Braintree, and Gabrielle Flanagan of Quincy. Also survived by 27 great nieces and nephews. Visiting hours in the MacKinnon Funeral Home 760 Washington St., WHITMAN, on Friday November 21 from 5-7:30 pm, followed by a service at 7:30 pm in the Funeral Home. Interment at a later date at Hull Village Cemetery. Many thanks to the Staff of the V.A. Medical Center in West Roxbury and Jamaica Plain.
