BISHOP, JOSEPH "RAY," 68, of Louisville, passed away Friday, May 5, 2006 at Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital. He was a native of Elizabethtown, KY, received his bachelor's from Campbellsville University and master's and Rank I from Western Kentucky University, retired Jefferson County Public School principal with 40 years of service, a Kentucky Colonel, member of JCRTA, KRTA, a past church council member at St. Mark Lutheran Church, where he was a past youth leader and Sunday School Teacher, and an Army veteran in the Cuban Conflict. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, the former Sharon Shuck; sons, Jeffrey Ray (Tammy), and Jason Ray; mother, Corinne Bishop from Campbellsville, KY; brothers, Donald (June) from Campbellsville and Douglas (Becky) from Frankfort, KY; Mother-in-law, Eva Ruth Shuck; grandsons, Joseph "Bradley" and Michael Ray; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and cousins. Funeral services will be Noon Tuesday at Evergreen Funeral Home, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Monday.
