Avis de décès de Jones-Everett Davis


DAVIS Jones Everett Davis, born April 20, 1930, completed his journey on earth August 25, 2012. Mr. Davis was born in Seneca, SC where he graduated from Seneca High School. After high school he married Shirley Morgan and they have been married for 63 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp, graduated from the University of Georgia with a Masters Degree in Accounting and a Doctorate Degree in Law. He and his family moved to Jacksonville, FL where he worked for the IRS, owned his own trucking company, and retired from Florida Community College. Jones Davis was a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ who lived his faith before his family and friends. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a devoted husband and committed father. Mr. Davis is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Clyde and Eunice Davis; parents-in-law, Mr. Odell and Grace Morgan. He is survived by two brothers, Jack Davis (Lois), and Jerry Davis (Sylvia); his loving wife Shirley Davis; his children Tony Davis (Patsy) and Deborah Price. Mr. Davis has five grandchildren: Jennifer Price (David Cramer), Jacquelyn Price, Jamie Price (engaged to Matt Lafond), Michelle Davis Stancil (Alex) and Ambree Davis Gossman (Nick); and four great-grandchildren: Deric, Jewel, Ethan and Braden. The family will receive friends at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St. Johns Bluff Road N., from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 30, 2012. All friends and family are invited to a celebration of Jones Davis' life which will take place at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 31, 2012 conducted by Rev. Paul Murphy. Private Interment will be held in Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Fl 32218 with full military honors conducted by Rev. Paul Murphy. Memorial gifts may be made to the building fund at First Baptist Church Jacksonville, FL.
