PETERSON, JON CHRISTIAN, of Wicomico Church, VA, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond VA on June 11, 2002 after a courageous battle with Renal Cell Carcinoma. He is survived by his wife, Linda of Wicomico Church as well as his son Chris and his wife Wendi and their children Hannah, JC, Cori, Shelby and Jake; his daughter Tamra Leary and her husband Bill and their children Alicia and Trina; his daughter Karen Wise and her husband Scott and their children Kaleb and Carolyn all of Winter Park, FL. He is the son of the late Louis H. Peterson and Mary L. Grubbs of Winter Park, FL. He received his degree in Business from Washington end Lee University in Lexington, VA in the class of 1961. He was President of Peterson Broadcasting, Primary Media and Peterson Outdoor Advertising and was a founding director of Southern Community Bank of Central Florida. Funeral services will be held at Kilmarnock Baptist Church in Kilmarnock, VA on Saturday, June 15 at 10AM with interment at Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, VA at 2PM. Family visitation will be held Friday evening June 14 at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock, VA from 6-7PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Kilmarnock Baptist Church Renovation Fund, 65 East Church Street, Kilmarnock, VA 22482 or to the Dr. James F. Holland Research Foundation, Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, 6 East 98th Street, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10029-6574.
