ObituaryJohnnie Ruth Martin, age 88, of Ft. Myers died on Monday, June 21, 2004 at Hope Hospice South. Born on May 8, 1916 in Kansas to John and Mable Guilfoyle, she has been a resident of Ft. Myers since 1948. She was the wife of the late Hugh W. Martin who died in 1993. She is survived by her son, Billy Sommerville, her step-son Winston (Polly) Martin, her brother-in-law, Wayne (Edna) Martin, her sister-in-laws, Berta Richey, Winifred Wheeler, June Sheppard and Mary Jo Martin, numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her long time friends and neighbors, Lucille Love, Don and Jean Henry, Dipak and Varsha Patel. Johnnie will be missed by all that knew her. A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, June 24, 2004 at 9:30 AM in the Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home where friends may call after 9:00 AM. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 Health Park Circle, Ft. Myers, FL 33908 to help continue the kind and loving care they provide.
