Mrs. Johnnie Mae Mitchell - Savannah - Mrs. Johnnie Mae Mitchell, 78 passed on June 9, 2006 surrounded by her loving family. Born May 21, 1928, the daughter of Claude, and Irene Robinson in Chatham County, Mrs. Mitchell was a life long area resident, a member of St. James AME Church, and an active member in the American Legion post 500 Lady's auxiliary, and the Eastside Concerned Senior Citizens group and a VFW Post 660. A woman who gave back to her community, and will be greatly missed by those whose lives she touched. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Mitchell, and her son, William T. Mitchell. Survivors include two daughters, Vivian Mitchell-Brannen, and Margaret Ilugbo-Hunter of Savannah; two brothers, Rogers Robinson, and Cornelius Hamilton Jr.; two sisters, Roberta Hamilton and Cassie Mae Williams. Mrs. Mitchell's grandchildren include Sgt. Williams T. Mitchell, and Joseph S. Mitchell, Ivy Y. Brannen, Roneshia Williams, and Melissa Ilugbo (Deceased). The family will be receiving friends Friday, July 14th, from 5-7 p.m., at Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home. Services will be Saturday, July 15, at 11 a.m., at St. James AME Church with Rev. Stephen A. Lee officiating, with the interment at Magnolia Gardens. Hubert C.
