John Boyce "J.B." Williams, of 407 Upper Highland Drive, died Tuesday, September 9, 2008. Born in Dacusville, a son of the late J. Andrew and Caroline Kay Williams, he graduated with a B.S. Degree in Agriculture at Clemson College in 1938, was a former Assistant County Agent in Laurens County, a District 4-H Agent in Aiken, SC, was the Director of Camp Long in Aiken, SC during the summers, and moved to Clemson in 1957 as the State 4-H Club Agent and retired from Clemson University as Professor Emeritus of Agriculture. He was a member of Fort Hill Presbyterian Church, an avid golfer and gardener, a member of Boscobel Country Club and a US Army veteran of WWII. Surviving are: two daughters, Marchita W. Culpepper and husband, Jim, of Clemson, and Johna W. Cochran and husband, John, of Anderson; three brothers, James Williams of York, S.C., Kirk and Frank Williams both of Easley; two sisters, Melissa Looper of Easley and Lucretia Scarboro of Stone Mountain, Ga.; two grandchildren, Maj. John Grayson Cochran and wife, Kari of Ashburn, Va. and Katherine H. Cochran of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Katherine Dixon Williams; three brothers, Robert, Braxton and Woodrow Williams; one sister, Edith Williams. Memorial services will be 11 a.m., Friday at Fort Hill Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be immediately following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fort Hill Presbyterian Church, 399 College Avenue, Clemson, SC 29631.
