John Case Williams, 91, died Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at Oakmont East Living Center. Born in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late John Coleman and Doris Case Williams. A graduate of Wofford College, Mr. Williams worked for the U.S. Postal Service, where he was a lobbyist for the Letter Carriers Association. A retired independent insurance agent, Mr. Williams was a former manager with Jefferson Standard Life Insurance Company and retired as an independent insurance agent. Surviving are a daughter, Kristi Parker and her husband, Jody, of Greenville; a stepdaughter, Angie Chandler and her husband, Steve, of Mt. Pleasant; a stepson, Kevin Johnson and his wife, Lisa, of Morgantown, Pa.; six grandchildren, John William Parker, Luke Parker, Lydia Parker, Taylor Green, Brittian Johnson and Delaney Johnson; a sister, Mary Miller of Spartanburg; and two nephews, John E. Miller of Spartanburg and Mark Miller of Clemmons, N.C. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Thomas Case Parker. A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 20, 2008, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown, with visitation to follow.
