MANNING, John Timothy "Slim" Services celebrating his life were held Saturday, February 28, 2009. A 9:15 a.m. prayer service was held at McInerny Funeral Home, followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church, Father Walter Wainwright presiding. Tim's daughters, Lisa and Liz, placed the funeral pall on his casket, with his son, Scott then placing the crucifix. Tim's sister-in-law, Carol Manning, and niece, Molly Murray gave the readings. Father Wainwright read the gospel, delivered the homily, and led the prayers of the faithful. Tim's siblings, Joe Manning, Jim Manning, Flossie Moffe, and Kathleen Train presented the Offertory Gifts. Brother-in-law, Chuck Moffe was a Eucharistic Minister. Jim Manning gave the eulogy. Music was led by organist, Bob Walsh, and soloist, Joe Caparulo. In tribute to Tim's service to his country, "God Bless America" was played as the American Flag was draped on his casket. Interment, with full military honors accorded, followed at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. Bagpiper, Pat Saxe, piped "Amazing Grace" at the cemetery. Pallbearers were Scott Manning, Chad McDonald, Phil Willsey, Anthony Carbonero, Cody Dolley, Mark Manning, Matt Manning, and Mike Murray. Honorary pallbearers were, Larry Sullivan, Chuckie Moffe, Jimmy "Whiz" Qualey, Mike Spaziani, Jimmy Giordano, Joey LeMark, and John Cain. After the graveside service, family and friends gathered at Bernie Murray's for a luncheon and the continuing of sharing memories of Tim.
