-> John Thomas Sheehan III, 77, died at his home in Savannah on May 24, 2005. His parents, John Thomas Sheehan, Jr. and Rita Laird Sheehan, preceded him in death. The Chatham County native was born and has lived in the Savannah area his entire life. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1946, served aboard the USS Yellowstone, and was honorably discharged in 1948. He retired from the Central of Georgia/Norfolk Southern Railroad in 1987 after 38 years of service. He has worked for Sheehan Upholstery for the last 11 years. As a member of Ardsley Park Baptist Church he coached the RA Boys baseball team. He has been active at Southside Baptist Church for many years. He was an avid Braves and Falcons fan and a proud Republican. Mr. Sheehan is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Strickland Sheehan; daughter, Jacque Sheehan Kinard and fiancee Timothy Murry; sons and daughters-in-law, Roswell Thomas and Barbara Briscoe Sheehan, John Michael and Robin Rh ines Sheehan, all of Savannah; grandchildren, Lily Brooke Sheehan and Molly Rose Sheehan of Savannah, Roswell Tanner Sheehan and wife Shelby of Atlanta, and Thomas Ryan Sheehan of Savannah. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. Funeral service: 1 p.m. on Thursday at Southside Baptist Church. Burial: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
