John Thomas Casey, 82, of Clark, N.J., entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral from the Walter J. Johnson Funeral Home, 803 Raritan Road, Clark, on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 9 a.m., thence to St. John the Apostle R.C. Church, Clark, where a Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. To offer condolences or for more information, please visit www.walterjohnsonfh.com Mr. Casey was born in New York and grew up in Elizabeth, N.J. In 1964, he moved to Clark. He worked for the Union County Police Department for 29 years, retiring in 1981 as a lieutenant. He also was the vice president of security at Port Newark, where he worked for 30 years, retiring in 2009. He served as the state delegate for the New Jersey State P.B.A. He proudly served his country in the Navy during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post 328 of Clark. A past president of the Union County Emerald Society, Mr. Casey was a member of the Fulton Boys Club and the Nugent's Organization of Elizabeth and a past grand marshal of the Middlesex County St. Patrick's Day Parade. Mr. Casey was the beloved husband for 59 years of Mrs. Eleanor (Kablis) Casey and the devoted father of Ms. Arlene Casey of Clark; Mr. Mark Casey and his wife, Sally, of Clark, and Mr. Matthew Casey and his wife, Brenda, of Clark. He was the cherished grandfather of Ryan, Shannon, Breanna and Daniel.
