Mr. John Tillman "Tim" Williams, age 91, of Florence, died Thursday, July 28, 2004. Visitation will be Friday, July 30, 2004, at New Hope Church of Christ from 9-11 a.m. The service will be Friday, July 30, 2004, at 11 a.m. at New Hope Church of Christ, with Brother Carl Seigenthaler officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.He was a native of Hohenwald, Tenn., later moving to Trenton, Mich., for more than 30 years. He was retired from Penwalt Chemicals. After retirement, he then moved to Lawrence County, Tenn., then to Lauderdale County. He was a member of New Hope Church of Christ. Mr. Williams was a U.S. Army veteran who served in World War II. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Carolyn Smith.Survivors include his wife, Mary O. Leighton Williams, of Florence, Ala.; grandchildren, Karen Smith Jacobs and husband, Barry, Ryan Smith and wife, Tara; and great-grandchild, Seth Jacobs.Memorials may be made to New Hope Church of Christ Library Fund or Cemetery Fund.Spry Serenity Chapel, Florence, is directing.
