COLONIE John T. Connell, 72, of Colonie, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2003 at St. Peter's Hospital after a brief illness. John was born in Chicago and had been a Guilderland resident for most of his life. Mr. Connell was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Navy and served his country during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Wood Lake Apartments in Guilderland from where he retired. Mr. Connell enjoyed flea markets and collectible toys. John is the husband of Gertrude Connell; father of Robert Connell of Schenectady, David Connell of Schenectady, Darlene Smith of Titusville, Fla. and John White of Schenectady; grandfather of Nicolle Smith and Christopher Smith. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He will be missed by his faithful canine companion, Serena and his feline companions, Blizzard and Mr. Bonks. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Wednesday evening at 7:00 at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). A calling hour will precede the service from 6:00 to 7:00 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Miracle Network, Albany Medical Center Foundation, P.O. Box 8928, Albany, NY 12208, in memory of John T. Connell.
