Starr, JohnJuly 1, 1917 - Dec. 29, 2012John Starr, 95, died peacefully in the presence of his wife of 70 years, Josephine.He was a WWII veteran who attended Springfield College, Columbia and New York University. He practiced physical therapy for 37 years in both Sarasota and Bradenton. As a young man, John was an avid swimmer, gymnast and musician.He is pre-deceased by his son John Damien. He is survived by his wife Josephine, daughters Sharon and Sylvia, son-in-laws David and Mike, grandchildren Christine, Steve and Bradford, and five great-grand children. A memorial mass in remembrance will be held at St. Michael the Archangel on Siesta Key, Saturday, Jan. 5 at 10 am.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Happiness House Rehabilitation Center, 350 Bradon Avenue, Sarasota, 34243.
