John Rollins Bolt, 64, Bradenton and formerly of Sarasota, died Nov. 11, 2006. He was born July 9, 1942, in Birmingham, Ala., and came to Sarasota a year ago from Tampa. He retired from management at GTE after 26 years. He was an adjunct professor at the University of Tampa and recently was an educator at the Falkenberg Academy in Tampa. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics and a master's degree in education, both from the University of South Florida. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn H.; a daughter, Tiffany A.; and a son, John G., both of Tampa; and sisters Betty Chevalier of Birmingham, Clara A. Stephens of Kingsport, Tenn., and Glenda McNally of Madison, Ala. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Bradenton Chapel. The service will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mote Marine Laboratory, 1600 Ken Thompson Parkway, Sarasota, FL 34236, or a charity of choice.
