Mr. John Robert Campbell, age 75, of Anderson, Missouri, was called to heav­en on Tues­day, Sept. 30, 2008 at Free­man Neosho Hospital in Neosho, Mis­souri. John began his jour­ney on Sept. 22, 1933 in Boston, Mas­sachusetts born to the late John M. and Eliz­abeth Campbell. He lived in Or­mond Beach, Florida for 25 years moving to Anderson a year ago to be closer with family. He married the love of his life, Doris Helen Knelly on May 18, 1985 in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. John proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps and the United States Army serving in the Ko­rean and Vietnam War. His pas­sion in life was riding motor-cycles. He was a lifetime mem­ber of the Goldwing Road Riders Association and a member of the Retreads Club. He also was an avid knife collector; a lifelong Boston Red Sox and New Eng­land Patriot Fan. John was pre­ceded in death by his parents, grandparents and two children. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Doris Campbell of the home; his children, Douglas Campbell of Pennsylvania, Carin Campbell of Pennsylvania, Ellis Seltzer and wife, Cheryl of Holly Hill, Florida, Paul Seltzer and wife, Lisa of Port Orange, Flor­ida, Judy Hopkins and husband, Brian of Anderson, Missouri; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as many other relatives, friends and neighbors who will dearly miss John. There will be an informal service for John held on Sunday, October 5, 2008 at 407 Cedar Street in Anderson, Missouri the home of Brian and Judy Hopkins.
