John Richard Wood II, 53, Manatee County and formerly of Sarasota, died May 30, 2003. He was born Nov. 17, 1949, in DeLand and came to this area 50 years ago from there. He lived in Sarasota 11 years ago. He was vice president and co-executive director of Wilson Wood Foundation in Sarasota. He graduated from Riverview High School, University of South Florida and University of Florida. He was a member of Woodland Baptist Church in Bradenton. Survivors include his wife, Patricia; parents John and Sadie Wood of Sarasota; a daughter, Kasey Jordan of Bradenton; a son, John L. of Bradenton; and sisters Ann Wood of Micanopy and Susan Wood of Sarasota. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, Sarasota. The service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sarasota.
