John R. Williams -->John R. Williams, age 88, of Hingham, formerly of Cohasset, passed away June 5, 2012. He was born in Cohasset and lived in Hingham for over 60 years. He was a 50 year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #4. John was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. His war decorations and citations were impressive. As a member of the 43rd Infantry Division; he was the recipient of two Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star. He was an avid horse lover and fisherman. His love of horses was only surpassed by his love of his vegetable garden. John remained very independent by chopping wood up until last year. Beloved husband of 65 years of Rae E. (Shea) Williams. Devoted father of Donna Brennan and her husband Ronald of Weymouth and Joanne Panaro and her husband John of Weymouth. Loving grandfather of Matthew Brennan of Whitman, Michael Brennan, Jill Panaro of CA and Jennifer Mauro of Weymouth. Also survived by six great-grandchildren. Funeral service in the McDonald Funeral Home, South Weymouth at 809 Main St., (Rte. 18 opp. So. Shore Hosp.) Monday, June 11 at 12:30 p.m. Visting hours Monday prior to funeral service from 11-12:30 p.m. Interment Woodside Cemetery, Cohasset.
