Retired truck driver AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. John 'Mack Pop' McClellan, 81, entered into rest on Thursday, September 4, 2003, at University Hospital. The funeral will be held on Monday, September 8, 2003, at 11 a.m., at Platts Crawford Avenue Chapel with the Rev. Alan Faulkner officiating. Mr. McClellan, a native of Waycross, was a retired truck driver. Survivors include his beloved wife, Sarah McClellan; his sons, J.W. McClellan of Augusta, Tommy McClellan of Washington, D.C., Ira McClellan of Virginia, Mike McClellan of North Augusta, Jimmy McClellan of Augusta, Richard McClellan of Athens and James Townson of Augusta; his daughters, Barbara Cheeks, Diane Pederson, Debra Weathorsby and Sherry Eagler all of Augusta; two sisters, Gladys Grooms of Waycross and Liza Robidoux of Jacksonville, Fla. and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m., and on Sunday afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m. Platts Funeral Home, 721 Crawford Avenue; 733-3636.
