ObituaryJohn Marion Williams died March 13, 2003 at HealthPark Hospital, Fort Myers, Florida from complications from lung cancer surgery. Mr. Williams was born June 12th 1928 in Enid, Oklahoma. Youngest of six children, he spent his childhood in Clarksburg, West Virginia and married his high school sweetheart Betty Jo Westfall. He attended Morgan State University and later earned his computer science degree from Skidmore University. He was a United States Army veteran and served time during the Korean War. He moved to Laurel, MD with his family in 1963 and was employed by NASA as a systems analyst until his retirement in 1990. A few years after retiring he moved to Cape Coral, Florida. He enjoyed dancing, painting, woodworking and volunteering at Cape Coral Hospital. His wife Betty Jo Williams, who died in 1987, preceded him in death. Survivors include his loving companion Margaret Resau, three daughters Donna Fontz and husband Steven of Cape Coral, Florida, Georgena 'Gena' Miller and husband Wayne of Laurel, and Joy Lennox of Cape Coral, Florida. A sister Hazel Sanchez 91, nine grandchildren, Christine, Jason, Tommy, Jonathan, Billy, Kendall, Graham, Adam, Heather and two great-grandchildren, Justin and Savannah. A Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, March 16th at 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Cape Coral Memorial Funeral Home, with a service at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Anthony Cubello III of Branch of Life Christian Fellowship will be officiating. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Thursday March 20th at 1:00 p.m. at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Elkridge, Maryland. Viewing held from 11:00 - 1:00 p.m. Pastor Tom Stevens of Faith Baptist church of South Laurel will be officiating.
