John Louvaughn Pitts, 75, passed away on Feb. 15, 2011, at his home in Deland, which he shared with his wife, Kay Frances Johnson Pitts, of 56 years. He was born in parker on April 26, 1935, and moved to Holmes County where he was raised and Attended Holmes County High School. He then moved to Miami where he owned and operated Pitts Brothers Paving Company until his retirement. He enjoyed visits "home" for the Hclub football reunions and for homecoming at Carmel Assembly of God Church the first Sunday in June. He served as Little League Coach for many years and taught his sons and daughter and served as coaches with them in Miami.He is preceded in death by hi parents, William Henry Pitts JR., and Claudia Buttram Pitts; Sisters, Mamie Lee Pitts Bowlin and Loraine Hazel Pitts Dilmore; step-mother, Eula Mae Pitts.He is survived by his wife, Kay Frances Johnson Pitts; three sons, John Robert Pits of Cocoa, Dale E. Pitts and wife, Yvonne of Marianna, and the Rev. Larry D. Pitts and wife Annett of Ormond Beach; daughter, Donna Sue Pits Wallace and husband Kevin of Melbourn; grandsons, Jason Paul Wallace, Justin Wallace, Jamie Wallace, Christopher Pitts, Kevin Pitts, Michael Pitts, Dean Pitts, and Dillon Pitts; granddaughter, Kelly Lee Pitts; brothers, William H. (Bill) Pitts and wife, Mary Lou, Ricky Pitts and wife Jennifer; sisters, Brenda L. Oney and husband Lugie and Louvenia Pitts Austin, and many nieces and nephews as well as a host of friendsFuneral services were held at Lankford Funeral home on Feb. 19. Internment was in Deland Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Pitts, the Rev. Bob Halley, the Rev. Jack Dowling and the Rev. Tommy Morre officiating.
