JOHN JOSEPH DORAN Passed away quietly in his sleep on Sunday, March 11, 2012 in his 80th year. Survived by his loving wife of 55 years Jean and his eight children: Patrick (Jane), Brian (Londy), Anne- Marie Gaudet (Leon), Kevin (Joanne), Cathy Sevigny (Matt), Sean (Sandy), Maureen Baldino (Rick) and Stephen (Michelle). Adored grandfather of Brendon, Megan, Caitlin Doran, Jake and Whitney Doran, Marie Paille (Remy and Amelie), Marc, Catherine, Melissa, Matthew and Christine Gaudet, Jessica, Andrea and Nathan Doran, Cassandra and Aidan Sevigny, Daniel and Angelina Baldino, Leila and Kiera Doran, Christmas. Beloved brother of Kay Sweeney (John deceased) and devoted friend of Tom Reilly. Beloved brother-in-law to Dorothy and George Bitker, Anne McRobb (deceased), Bill and Doreen McRobb, Shirley and Bill Hoffman and Nancy McRobb. John will be dearly missed by many family and friends in Ireland especially Cissie Doran. John was an active member of St. Mary's Church, Brampton and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He coached hockey and baseball in Brampton for many years. He believed strongly in Catholic Education and held the position of Trustee for the Dufferin Peel School Board for 18 years and as Board Chairman for a term. John retired from Canada Packers in 1997 after 40 years and spent his time with his family by the pool. A special thanks to the nurses on 3A-2 at Trillium Health Centre Mississauga whose care and compassion for our beloved husband and father made his final days peaceful. Family and friends will be received at The Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main St. S., Brampton, on Monday, March 19th from 6-9 p.m. and Tuesday, March 20th from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 21st at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church. Reception to follow the church service in the Auditorium. As expressions of sympathy, the family requests donations be made to the St. Mary's - St. Vincent de Paul Society c/o 66A Main St. S., Brampton L6W 2C6.
