CASTONGUAY, John Joseph 2008-07-18, age 77 years, of Thunder Bay passed away on Thursday, July 17th, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Hospice with loving family at his side. John was born January 30, 1931 in Port Arthur and lived all of his adult life in Thunder Bay. He was a respected high school teacher and retired after 30 years to enjoy his many pastimes. John enjoyed extensive travel and was extremely proud to be able to ride his motorcycle until the age of 76. John is survived by his loving wife Jane; daughter Denise (Doug Speer); sons: Keith (Kathy) and Ken (Lori). He was extremely proud of his five grandchildren: Michelle, Kyle (April), Jason, Ian and Nicole. He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Regina and his first wife Doreen. Funeral Services for the late John Castonguay will be held on Monday, July 21st, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, officiated by Rev. Nancy Ringham of St. James Church, Parish of West Thunder Bay. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the time of Service. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in John’s memory to St. Joseph’s Foundation, designated to the Hospice Unit, or to the charity of your choice.
