John Jay Lee of Verona, passed Monday, February 2, 2009, in his home, at the age of 59. John Jay was well regarded in Aurora and the surrounding communities as the President of First Independent Bank. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Debbie (Raines) Lee of the home; two children, Jennifer Lee of Columbia and John Paul Lee and his wife, Joy of Verona; his parents, John P. and Mary Margaret Lee; one sister, Vicki Fischer and her husband, John of Springfield; three grandchildren, John Dakota, Jay Daniel and Jacey Grace Lee; several nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends. Funeral services, under the direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2009, in the United Methodist Church of Aurora. Visitation and fellowship will follow the service. Private burial will be held in Lee Cemetery.
