John James 'Jimmy' Fanning, II of Westford, active in community; 51 WESTFORD John James "Jimmy" Fanning, II, 51, of Westford, died suddenly, June 15, 2009 in Westford. He was born in Malden, MA, the second son of John James Fanning, Sr. and Margaret Rita (Casey) Fanning of Westford, who survive him. The family moved to Westford in 1966 where Jimmy grew up and considered Westford to be his home. He was a graduate of Nashoba Valley Technical High School, Class of 1975. Jimmy was a longstanding member of the New England Teamsters & Trucking Industry, Local 49, Dracut, MA. He served the Westford Community as a volunteer fireman for many years and also drove a school bus for the Town of Westford. Jimmy had many hobbies, including hunting, fishing, riding recreational vehicles, camping and outdoor activities. He also enjoyed collecting military items, especially antique military vehicles and tanks and was a train and locomotive enthusiast. He was a very kind and gentle man, always willing to help his friends and family when in need and would give you the shirt off his back. Besides his loving parents, he is survived by his brother, Mark Curtis Fanning and his wife, Sherry Lynn (Corriveau) Fanning of New Boston, N.H.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins from Massachusetts to Ohio. FANNING Friends may call at the HEALY FUNERAL HOME, 57 NORTH MAIN ST., WESTFORD on Friday, June 19th from 4&#58;00 to 8&#58;00 p.m. His funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday at 9&#58;00 a.m. at St. Catherine's Church, 107 North Main St., Westford. Burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, MA.
