BOLT, John (Jack) James - April 15, 1916 - May 18, 2009 - Jack passed away peacefully at the F. J. Davey Home at the age of 93 with his family at his side. He has rejoined Eileen, his loving wife of 50 years, who predeceased him in April of 1991. Cherished Dad to Rilla Higgins (Paul) and much loved Gramp to Michael (Allison), Matthew, Virginia and Suzanne. Jack is also survived by two dear sisters, Florence Cain (late Gordon) and Gladys Monette (late Gerry), and a very special sister-in-law, Eve Southward (late Cec), as well as many nieces and nephews. Jack was a true St. Joe Islander, born and raised near Fort St. Joseph. He was a kind and generous man, honest, independent, resourceful, a hard worker and a good steward of his farm land on the Huron Line. He loved working with all things mechanical. There wasn't much he couldn't repair. He could do laundry and yes, he could cook! In recent years Jack spent many hours reading books, magazines and newspapers. He always knew what was happening in our world. He loved a good story and had many tales to tell. His family will strive to emulate the exceptional role model he has always been. Jack never enjoyed being the centre of attention. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral service. A private interment will take place at Richards Landing Cemetery. His family invites friends and acquaintances to join them in celebrating Jack's life at Jocelyn Hall on Sunday, May 24, 2009 at 2 pm. Arrangements entrusted to BARTON & KITELEY FUNERAL HOME, 759-2114. 11521197
