John-Jack Casey, né en 1919, conjoint de Helen-Walsh Casey, fils de Timothy et Kate-Whelan, père de Jack, est décédé le 7 janvier 2006 à l'âge de 87 ans.
SCOTIA John Jack Casey, 87, of Pershing Drive, Scotia, died Saturday, January 7, 2006 at Ellis Hospital after a short illness. Mr. Casey was born and raised in South Troy, the son of the late Timothy and Kate Whelan Casey. Mr. Casey graduated from Catholic High in Troy in 1936. He was an army engineer in World War II and fought in five major campaigns, including the Battle of the Bulge and the invasion of Normandy. Mr. Casey was employed by the Golub Corporation in the graphic design department for 30 years, retiring in 1983. Mr. Casey was predeceased by a brother, William Casey, and a sister, Mary Casey. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen Walsh Casey; one son, Jack Casey and his wife Cathe of Niskayuna; four grandchildren, Christopher, Brian, Jennifer and Michael Casey, all of Niskayuna; and one brother, Dr. Thomas Casey of Troy. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted Tuesday morning at 9:30 at the Gleason Funeral Home, 730 Union Street, Schenectady and at 11:00 at St. Joseph's Church, Troy where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
