HORNE, John (Jack) May 25, 1925 August 9, 2008 Jack passed away quietly at home after a lengthy illness surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his wife of 61 years, Mickey and his children, Heather (Don) Wright, Rob, Janice (Buck), Karen/Shorty (Gord) Rendle, Julie (Joe) Hooper, Bonnie (Doug) Gardner, Rocky (Candi); grandchildren, Donna, Tracie, Amy (Dave), Scott (Michelle), Wade, Sarah, Samantha, Michael, Kyle and Kurt (Kooch); great-grandchildren, Hayden and Hudson; sister, Betty (Bram) Bowles; numerous nieces and nephews; many friends, extended family and life-long friends, Joyce Brooks and Shirley Wright. Predeceased by grandchildren, Robert Rendle and Brianne, Nicole, Christine and Jessica Fransen and their father, Owen. Jack (Dad) was a Flt SGT AG with the RCAF during WWII, as well as a member of Local 1598 Carpenter's Union for 55 years, a lifetime member of N&SSAS (Saanich Fair), past convener and long time proud ring man for the draft horse section. The family would like to give many thanks to the Palliative Care teams, VIHA nurses, and caregivers of Beacon Services. A celebration of Jack's life will be held at the Saanich Fair grounds main hall at 1528 Stelly's Cross Road on Monday, August 18 at 12:00.
