November 11, 2006 John H. Grist, III, 67, of Parish, NY, passed away Saturday after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He enjoyed a lengthy career in Medical Malpractice Insurance, most recently as a Claims Manager with Missouri Mutual Insur-ance Company. His pride was having served in the U.S. Army 504th MP Bn. A Co. in Ft. Lewis, Washington. He belonged to the VFW in Cooperstown, NY. Predeceasing him were his wife of 27 years, Judy Kyle Grist and his parents, John, Jr. and Mary. Survivors: His children, John IV and Lori, both of Parish; grandson, John V. of Missouri and several nieces and nephews. He was an exceptional father and friend. Arrangements will be handled by Farone & Son. At Mr. Grist's request, there will be no services. Contributions in his memory may be made to Donald McFee Ambulance or the Parish Volunteer Fire Department, both of whom provided him with caring service during his illness.
